Pictures from last week

Everything continues to go well at home. Just trying to rest and between resting, trying to find things to do while on the couch. Here are some pictures from last week...

All the boy's clothes from the shower
The girl's clothes from the shower

Toys, books, bottles
The beautiful quilts that the Weckman aunts made
Car seats, pack and plays, and double stroller

The babies continue to do well. They have good heart beats and are very active. They are estimating that baby boy weighs around 3 pounds and baby girl weighs 2 pounds, 13 ounces at my last ultrasound on Thursday.
Picture of baby girl from Thursday (she cooperates for pictures)

 Both babies together.
Hanging out at the hospital
That's it for now! Back to the doctor next week!

Home Sweet Home

We are home! The doctor just discharged me home today to be on strict bedrest for the remainder of the pregnancy. What that means is that I am to stay in bed or laying down on the couch as much as I can. I get bathroom and shower privileges only. No shopping, house cleaning, or cooking. The goal is to keep those babies cooking for another 5 weeks. Everything continued to check out fine over the weekend. Still having some contractions, but they are now less than 6 an hour with medications and I am still dilated to 3 cm, but that hasn't changed since Thursday. It sure feels good to be home!

Oh what a week it has been...

This past week started out great! My mom, sister, and sister-in-law gave me a fabulous baby shower on Sunday. The weather was perfect and it was great to see everyone there! Thanks to everyone for the wonderful gifts for the babies! We are starting to feel a little bit more prepared for their arrival.

Well the big news as of right now is that I am hanging out at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. I had my monthly ultrasound and doctor's appointment on Thursday. During my exam, the doctor told me that I was already dilated to 3 cm. He told us to go straight to Abbott to see the perinatalogist to see what was going on. We got here around 6:00 on Thursday and right away they hooked me up to all the machines and it turns out that I was having contractions! I never even felt anything!

So for now, the plan is to hopefully stop the contractions for at least 48 hours to give the babies steroids to speed up their lung development. Hopefully they can stop the contractions to prolong delivery for another 6 weeks to get me to 34 weeks. Right now we are kind of in a wait and see what happens. The contractions are spacing apart so it looks like I am going to make it to the first goal of 48 hours. After that, we will have to wait and see. I will most definitely be on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy, I just don't know where. There is a possibility of going home on bed rest, but if things don't settle down enough for the doctor's comfort, I could be here at the hospital until these babies deliver. We will just have to wait and see...

Chris and I are trying to make the best of this new development and trying to keep the stress level down. We know the babies are in good hands here. We will keep everyone updated when we know anymore!

Happy 4th Anniversary!!!

Yesterday (June 2), Chris and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. It's crazy to think that we have been married for 4 years already! We celebrated by not eating sugar and fasting for 10 hours in preparation for my 3 hour glucose test the following morning. I failed my 1 hour glucose test last week so I had to do the 3 hour test this week to check for gestational diabetes. It was VERY hard to go from Thursday night until Friday at noon without eating anything, except water, and of course the yummy glucose punch that you get to drink. Well, it all paid off because the 3 hour test came back negative! No gestational diabetes here! Yay!
